Once you have a Newfie, you'll never go back! They are truly the biggest, most affectionate gentle giants out there.

We use our Newfoundlands in so many ways on our mountain farm. Known as "nanny dogs," they truly follow our pack of wild children all over the mountains where we live. While not a true livestock guardian breed, our pair of Newfoundlands are amazing for predator control.

 

Loyal, gentle, and giant love-bugs, they are the perfect family dog. They're happy to just hang out at home, but can also go, go, GO if asked! They're just thrilled to be along for whatever their people are doing. They're perfectly suited for wide-open spaces, but can be perfectly content with a daily walk and a backyard to sniff around in.

Originally bred as water rescue dogs and companions for sailors in Northern Europe, they're incredibly emotionally-intuitive.
